Montgomery, Elsie

DELMAR- Elsie VanDeloo Montgomery died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at her home. Born in Albany, she was a lifelong resident of the Capital District. She was the daughter of Peter and Marie (Dascher) VanDeloo. Her husband W. Robert Montgomery predeceased her in 2000 after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her sons; Thomas (Mary Ann) and John (Deborah); her grandchildren; Kristin McAllister (Sean), Sara, Lauren, Leigh and Matthew as well as her great-grandson Aiden Michael McAllister; also survived by her brother Peter A. VanDeloo of Escondido, CA and his family.

As a young woman, Elsie worked for Blue Cross for ten years before leaving the workplace to raise her two sons. She later was employed by the NYS Dormitory Authority for 20 years from which she retired in 1983. She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew
