BENTZ, GRACE G.

GLENMONT- Grace G. Bentz, 81, entered eternal rest on November 10, 2010. She was the loving mother of Timothy Bentz.

Born in Brooklyn she moved to Bethlehem in 1940. Mrs. Bentz was the daughter of the late George K. Gourley and Grace Churchhill Greene Gourley. She graduated from Bethlehem Central and Russell Sage College in 1951. Mrs. Bentz married her beloved late husband Frank (Pete) P. Bentz, Jr. in 1952 with whom she was married to for over 50 years. She worked for the Dept. of Health until the birth of her son. After raising her son she worked for the PIA in Glenmont until her retirement. Her interests included gardening, cooking, and beautifying her home in which she lived for 52 years. She always enjoyed family and friends and was a volunteer at the Wildwood School at First Presbyterian Church in Albany.

In addition to her son she is survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Allison; her nieces and nephews Kathleen, David and Linda Hart, Christine Keneston, Lynn Petitt, David, John, Mike, and Al Allison and the late Paul Allison. She was also predeceased by her sister Anne Hart. Mrs. Bentz also has surviving relatives in Ireland, England, Canada and New Zealand.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 10:30am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 4:30-7:30pm. Interment, Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
