Avacato, Geraldine M.

SLINGERLANDS- Geraldine M. (DeSimile) Avacato, 90, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at her home in the Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck.Born and educated in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose DeSimilie. Mrs. Avacato lived most of her life in Armonk, NY and was active in many community organizations there.In 2003 she moved to Slingerlands with her husband Anthony to be near their family.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Anthony Avacato; children, Anthony Avacato, Jr. of Slingerlands and Rosemary (Edward) Craig of Cooperstown: grandchildren Brian (Carrie), David and Thomas Craig; and great-granddaughter Emily.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
