ALBANY- Elizabeth V. (Cozzy) Yates, 86, died suddenly, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie (Wolbert) Cozzy. She was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians Grammar School and attended Philip Schuyler High School. Mrs. Yates worked for 23 years with Albany County, retiring in 1992. She was a Communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill. She was a volunteer at the Louise Corning Senior Center, the Former Our Lady Help of Christians Church and was instrumental in starting the Second Ave. Senior Center. She had an extensive collection of different hand bells.

Wife of the late William F. Yates; mother of Donna (Joe) DelBelso of Rensselaer, William T. (Linda) Yates of Delmar, Susan (John) Kondrat of Glenmont and James (Rose Naze) Yates of Albany; sister of Thomas (Regina) Cozzy, Mary (late Donald) Barber, Geraldine (Thomas) Carlo and the late James Cozzy. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and her pets Katie and KC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 8:45 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home, Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 3-6 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
