Born and raised in Albany, Chubby was a graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School and Russell Sage College and honorably served in the United States Army. Influenced by his strong catholic faith, he also dedicated a period of his life to studying at Mater Christi Seminary, considering the journey towards Catholic priesthood. In 1969, Chubby married the love of his life, Frances, built an amazing life and had six children. In 1970, Chubby joined the Albany Police Department (APD), and became a champion for children. He was an original member of the APD Juvenile Unit. In his years with the Juvenile Unit, many children experiencing family difficulties were brought to his home for a warm meal and reassurance that things would be okay. In 1992, he proudly retired as a Juvenile Detective.
After retiring from the Albany Police, Chubby embarked on a career with the Public Safety Department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he served as a Sergeant. During his time at RPI, he was immensely proud that four of his children pursued and completed their education at RPI. In retirement, he enjoyed performing genealogy research on his ancestry, traveling, large family dinners, and being dragged to the Saratoga Race Course by Frances. Chubby remained devoted to his wife, six children, sixteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren until the day he passed.
