ALBANY- Douglas Francis Weis, 80,a lifelong resident of Albany, NY,passed away at his home,March 19, 2022.He was the son of the late Frederick T. Weis, Sr. andElizabeth M. (Flanagan) Weis. Douglas was a graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School, Albany, NYandwas employed by New York State Workers’ Compensation Board for 30 years, retiring with formal expressions of appreciation.
He is survived by his devoted brother, Frederick T. Weis, Jr. and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Sausville Weis, Phoenixville, PA,; cousins Joan M. Sherlock of Troy, NY, Geri Dydych (Michael) of Latham, NY and Katie Sherlock of Watervliet, NY. He is also survived by a loving family who always included him in their holidays and special occasions and by many lifelong friends particularly Joseph Guay of Cohoes, NY and Michael Poskanzer of Albany, NY. Doug enjoyed attending Classic Car exhibitions and dining with friends at area restaurants, as well as attending activities and gatherings at Woodstock, NY.
A calling hour will be heldWednesday, April 6 from 11:00 AM-12:00 Noonat the Parish of Mater Christi,40 Hopewell St., Albany NY.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Central Ave., Albany, NY. In lieu of flowers, Doug may be remembered by memorial contributions tothe Spina Bifida Association, SBANENY, Scotia Plaza,123 Saratoga Road, Scotia NY 12302or Doctors Without Borders,40 Rector St. 16th Floor, New York, NY 10006.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
