COHOES- James W. Weeks, 83 passed away peacefully at home on Christmas moring December 25, 2021.

Born, educated and raised in Hudson, NY he was the son of the late Alvin and Louise (Girard) Weeks.

After serving in the US Navy, Jim went to work for the former Dorn’s Transportation in Colonie with his brother Al for many years, until it closed. In 1987 he began working as the crematory operator at Albany Rural Crematory, retiring in 2012. Upon retiring from the crematory, Jim worked part-time for the former Diamond Limousine Co. and with his son, Jim at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home.

A renowned storyteller, Jim would describe the sometimes humorous and always engrossing vivid details of events and situations that he, his family or circle of friends shared together.

He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Dawn Marie (Potts) Weeks; loving father to James (Marisa) Weeks; grampy to Anthony (Samantha) Weeks, Joseph (Sarah) Weeks and Mia Weeks; great-grampytoDelilah Weeks.He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his granddog Cooper. In addition to his parents Jim was predeceased by his siblings, Audrey Braker, Elizabeth Caparaso, Alvin and Kenneth Weeks.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jim’s family on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany.
