Weatherwax, Edward T.

ALBANY- Edward T. Weatherwax, 81, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen Weatherwax. Ed graduated from Albany High School and Core school in the Great Lakes. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam. Upon returning from the Navy, he worked for the US Postal Service, retiring after over 30 years of service.

He enjoyed bowling, playing billiards and collecting antiques. Ed was a former member of the Albany Elks.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Fran Weatherwax; children Kenneth Scott Weatherwax (Karen M.) and Thomas Alan Weatherwax (Karen J.); grandchildren Jack, Jacob, and Logan; and his nieces Becky and Michelle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Gary.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ed’s family Thursday, July 27, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. The Parish family of Christ the King will gather at 4:00 pm in the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 28, at 10:30 am in Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave, Guilderland.

Interment will follow at 1:30pm in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
