Walther, Ronald J.

ALBANY- Ronald J. Walther, 66, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in Albany, he was the beloved son of Anne Theresa (O’Bryan) Walther and the late Stanley Leo Walther. Ron worked for the NY State Education Department for 37 years, retiring in 2003. He was a Communicant and usher at the former St. James Church. Ron enjoyed listening to music, old movies and spending time with his family. He was a devoted and generous uncle to his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Thomas (Amada) Walther of Coxsackie; sisters, Diane Dinova and Maureen (Michael) Smith all of Albany. He was predeceased by his brother Stanley “Corky” Walther.

Funeral services will be held at 9:45 am Friday, April 15, 2011 from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave. where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 4-7 pm. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford, NY.
