Via, Marie B.

ALBANY-Marie B. Via, 91, died Friday, March 29, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born Marie Vitullo in Utica, NY in 1921, she was predeceased by her husband, Alphonso.

Marie is survived by her son, Alan (Barbara); daughter Susan (Joe); devoted grandchildren Gillian (Douglas) and Matthew (Megan); great-grandchildren Robert and Holly, and her brother, Adam Vitullo.

Marie was a hard-working much appreciated secretary in the Utica Public Schools. She also taught adult education in Utica and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Most of all she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. We will miss her immensely, but are far richer for having had her as our guiding star.

The family will celebrate Marie’s life in a private remembrance.
