Vennard, Lucy

GLENMONT – Lucy (Saglimbeni) Vennard, 81, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Anna (Moscheo) Saglimbeni.

Mrs. Vennard was a Communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill. She retired in 1994 from the State Comptroller’s Office. She enjoyed horse racing, slot machines, card games and spending time with her family.

She was wife of the late Robert W. Vennard; mother of Kathleen (Gregory) George of East Greenbush, Karen (Walter) Ayres of Delmar, Kristine (Thomas) Burns of Albany, Kim Kohinke (John Maryanopolis) of Clifton Park, and Kevin (Susan) Kohinke of Milford, PA; grandmother of Jay (Lynne) Grugan, Jeffrey (Jami) Grugan, Sean (Mary) Burns, Marie Burns, Maura Ayres, Monica Ayres, Garrett Kohinke and Drew Kohinke; great-grandmother of Bailey and Connor Grugan; sister of Shirley DeBenedetti, Frank (Connie) DeBenedetti, Robert DeBenedetti and the late Sadie Carson and Chetto Saglimbeni; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Monday May 16, 2011 in Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 4-7 pm.
