Urbanski, Rita A.

ALBANY- Rita A. (Marx) Urbanski, 82, died Monday November 4, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born in Albany and graduated from the Cathedral Academy. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Woods) Marx. She was a member of the Parish of Mater Christi for fifty years. Rita worked as a secretary at St. Catherine School and rectory while her children were young. She also worked at St. Peter’s Hospital for twenty five years, retiring in 2001 from Homecare. Rita continued to work part time at Homecare through 2009. She looked upon her friends and colleagues at Homecare as her extended family.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter S. Urbanski, Sr. in 1986, her daughter Marlene; sister Marlene Marx and her brother Edward Marx. She is survived by her children Walter S (Meg) Urbanski, Jr., Susan and Karen Urbanski, Rita (Daniel) Papandrea and Edward (Kathy) Urbanski; her grandchildren John and Katrina Urbanski; and her very dear cousin Mary Marx.

The family wishes to thank the nurses from the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association, St. Peter’s Health Partners and the nurses from Community Hospice of Albany for the care extended to Rita.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. thence to The Parish of Mater Christi where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
