DELMAR- Edwin W. Uhl Jr., 92, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born and educated in Albany he was the son of the late Edwin W. and Bertha (Kositzka) Uhl, Sr. He was an Army Veteran of WWII having served with the 50th General Hospital in France. Mr. Uhl retired from Fleet Bank (Bank of America) in 1982 as a Vice president and Trust Officer. After retirement he worked for Sager Spuck.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Albany Country Club, The Fort Orange Club, State Bank of Albany Quarter Century Club, the JC’s, the Nathanial Blanchard American Legion Post and the American Institute of Banking. He was also an Emeritus member of the Foundation Board of NE Health and a Rotarian for many years. In addition to having a great love for his family and his God, Mr. Uhl enjoyed playing golf and gardening.

Husband of 66 years of Anna (Gallasch) Uhl; father Kurt E. (Mirca) Uhl of Slingerlands, and Joann (Bruce) Susser of Selkirk; grandfather of Katie (Luke) Willey, James (Megan) Susser, Kristopher Uhl, John and Janyl Slater; great-grandfather of Adam Willey and Eli Gallagher; uncle of Karen Burrows and Susan Sehl. He is also survived by grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10:30 am in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Norman E. Dascher Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar.
