GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA- Carol F. (Sabin) Travis, 69, died Saturday March 5, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Carol was born in Bangor, ME the daughter of Carrie (Schneider) Sabin and the late Alton Sabin, Sr. She graduated from high school in 1959 and spent one year attending an interior design school in Boston. She was employed by the NYS Department of Labor for 32 years. Carol moved to Greensboro, NC in August of 2010 where she remained until her passing. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and crafting. She was often praised by her family and co-workers for her crafted decorations and centerpieces.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth George Travis, Jr.; mother of Bethany Kay Travis, 35 and Mark Randolph Travis, 33; sister of Alton Sabin, Jr., Caren Jacks, Cauline LaFrance and Gail Sabin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:45 am on Friday, March 11, 2011 from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish-Southend Community (formerly St. John’s – St. Ann’s Church) Fourth Ave. at Franklin St., Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10: 30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont
