ALBANY- Tony Mercedes, a resident of St. Margaret's Center, Albany for 34 years, passed into eternal life on January 14, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Queens, NY on March 4, 1985, Tony was the "adopted” son of David Amico of Colonie and "adopted” grandson of Frances Amico of Colonie. He was predeceased by his Grandpa, Al Amico. Tony was a beloved member of both the Amico family and his family at St. Margaret's Center. He enjoyed participating in various activities, especially music, and always loved playing with his Grandma Fran. His beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and unique vocalizations (his famous raspberries!) brought much joy to the world. He will be deeply missed. David would like to thank all those who cared for Tony at St. Margaret's Center over these many years. They did so with great love and professionalism. Special thanks, as well, for those who cared for him at Albany Medical Center.
A calling hour will be held in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 followed by a funeral service at 11 am with the Very Rev. Robert Longobucco officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions can be made for Resident Activities at St. Margaret's Center, 27 Hackett Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
