DELMAR- George H. Ten Eyck, Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, October 19, after a brief illness.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late George H. and Gladys (Montrose) Ten Eyck. George was employed by Farrell Oil Company in Wilton for over 20 years and worked for Capitaland Filter in Ravena part-time after his retirement. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served with the 844th Ordinance Depot Company. He was a member of the American Legion Blanchard Post 1040 and was an avid bowler, golfer and Red Sox fan.
Devoted husband of 54 years to Margaret (Cronin) Ten Eyck; beloved father of George H (Jody) Ten Eyck III of Glenmont and Mary E (Dennis) Bailey of Selkirk; proud grandfather of Tara Ten Eyck, Ashley Ten Eyck, Amanda Bailey and Michael Bailey; brother of Alden (Ida May) Ten Eyck of Winthrop, Sanford (Madeline) Ten Eyck of Colonie, Donald Ten Eyck of Florida and Joan (late George) Sickles of Defreestville. George is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, at 10:30 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 25 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Interment will follow the Service at 12 noon in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to Eddy Alzheimer's Care Team Program, Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center, 421 Columbia St., Cohoes, NY 12047.
