ALBANY-Jean Ann (Owens) Tartaglia, 79, lifelong resident of Albany, died on Thursday, September 1, 2011 surrounded by her devoted and loving husband of 61 years, Thomas P. Tartaglia, Sr. and her children, Jean (Francis) Ciani, Mary (Rick) Lombardo, Theresa Tartaglia and Thomas P. Tartaglia, Jr. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Tartaglia, Jana Lauer, Michael (Debbie) Ciani, Theresa (Joey) Barbera, Katie (Kevin) Sheehan, Matthew Lombardo, Jim Maio and Jessica Tartaglia; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Jean is the daughter of the late George and Anna Mae (Lutey) Owens and was predeceased by her sisters, Margie Loveridge, Janice Gervais and Alice Sharer. She is the sister–in-law of Laura Fitzpatrick and Reverend Paul Tartaglia and the late Anthony and Molly Tartaglia, Kathryn and Thomas Flanagan, Betty and Joseph Tarasovich and Joseph Fitzpatrick.

Jean was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband and children. Her carefree attitude and amusing stories will be forever cherished by her grandchildren.

She had a special love for St. Theresa and an affinity for angels. She will always be loved by her family and friends, especially John and Adrienne Mateucci and devoted family friend, Maureen Tighe.

The Tartaglia family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Wuesthoff Medical Center and Kindred Hospital, Melbourne, Fl. as well as the staff of St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation, St. Peter’s Hospital and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s for their excellent care.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc., 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, corner of Pine and Lodge Streets., Albany at 9:30 am. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
