ALBANY-James R. Sullivan, 66, died on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Teresian House after a brave and valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis, having been diagnosed at the age of 28. He had lived in Bethlehem for many years.
Born and educated in Albany he was the son of the late Robert L. and Kathleen (Maul) Sullivan. He was a graduate of RIT where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He was the owner/operator of HMA Contracting in Mechanicville for many years until he was forced to retire due to his illness. He will forever be remembered for his wit, humor and kindness.
He was predeceased by his wife, Janet (Hansen) Sullivan. Survivors include his sons, Sean Sullivan (Gina Blockside) and Robert Sullivan (Teresa Graziano); grandchildren, David Sullivan, Bryan Brown and Dante Sullivan; siblings, Kathleen Condon (Joseph) and Maureen Bonanni (Vincent); his sister-in-law Esther Martone and many nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Teresian House for the compassionate care and kindnesses extended to James while he was a resident.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
