Strassner, Heinz E.

ALBANY- Heinz E. Strassner, 84, died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Berlin, Germany, he immigrated to the US as a teenager, settled in the Capital District and became a US citizen. Heinz served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He began his own plumbing supply business from where he retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Bucci McTague American Legion Post.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Jean Williams Strassner and son Steven Strassner. He is survived by his daughters Sandra Judge (Michael), Susan Politi (John), Sheryl Quinn (Peter) and Sheila Poskanzer (Alan); his daughter-in-law Mary Strassner; siblings Helen Thorpe and Jan Strassner; grandchildren Erich Strassner (Mimi), Kristen Husson (Paul), James Strassner (Vanessa), Victoria Molino (Michael), John Politi, Shaun Quinn (Andrea), Erica Quinn (Ron Gallo), Peter Quinn (Brianna), Paul Quinn, Ethan and Elissa Poskanzer; his 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to his Funeral at 1:00 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc. 490 Delaware Ave. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. If desired, contributions in Heinz’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
