Stewart, Margaret M.

GUILDERLAND- Margaret M. (Sutka) Stewart, 77, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at St. Peter’s Nursing & Rehabilation Center in Albany. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Thekla (Mysick) Sutka. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. Mrs. Stewart worked in the CCP Corporate Procurement Dept. of IBM in Poughkeepsie for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the New Hamburg Yacht Club and enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, sailing and especially spending time with her grandsons.

Wife of the late John F. Stewart; mother of Susan Stewart of Cohoes, John (Linda) Stewart of Voorheesville and the late Stephen Stewart; grandmother of Evan and Stephen Stewart; sister of William Sutka of Poughkeepsie, Mary Whitley of NC and the late Elizabeth Stofa, Josephine Cleary, Barbara Sutka, George Sutka and Theresa Scheltmeyer. Margaret is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. At a later date, burial of the cremated remains will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Episcopal Church, Discretionary Fund, 129 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110.
