SPADARO, ROSE V.
ALBANY- Rose (Viglucci) Spadaro, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Born on April 24, 1917 in Albany she was the daughter of the late Diamonte and Marianna (Orfitelli) Viglucci. Rose was the second oldest of 6 children born to loving and caring parents who immigrated from Naples, Italy in the early 1900’s. Rose resided with her husband in Albany at the house where she and her siblings were raised. She came from a very loving home with a close knit Italian family. Rose had a flair for sewing and learned at an early age to tailor clothes to fit her petite figure. Rose was a seamstress and worked for over 45 years in Albany, retiring in 1981.
Rose devoted her life to her husband and family. She enjoyed baby-sitting her nieces and nephews and you could count on her to look out for the children in the neighborhood. She was a big believer in taking care of your pets and looked out for the neighborhood animals too. Her one passion besides her husband and family was the Saratoga Race Track in August. Many a summer Rose and her husband would gather with the Viglucci family at the lake house they owned in Saratoga.
She was wife of the late Ralph Spadaro; Sister of Mary Viddivo, Pasquale Viglucci, Grace Zappala, Christopher (Margaret) Viglucci and the late Josephine Cook; sister-in-law of the late Frank Viddivo, Harry Cooke, Anthony Zappala, Sr. and Teresa Viglucci. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving niece, Sandra A. Zappala.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care they gave Rose.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rose’s memory to the St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 301 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY 12208.
