ALBANY- Salvatore S. Spadaro, 84, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 after a short illness. Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Carmello and Rose (Pagano) Spadaro.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Spadaro was a barber for over 50 years, first with his own shop and later for many years at the VA Hospital. He was a Communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church. Mr. Spadaro was a life member of the Albany Elks, the Polish American Club and the American Legion Joseph Zaloga Post. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and enjoyed playing golf.
He was husband of the late Anna Marie (Fabozzi) Spadaro; father of Paul (Moira) Spadaro and Jo Ann Spadaro (Tony Bouchey) all of Albany; grandfather of Paul John, Samuel and Kathryn; brother-in-law of Carol (late Nicholas) Fabozzi of Albany; uncle of Debbie (Jjim) Pasquali and Mary Beth Champagne; great-uncle of Aaron Champagne and Matthew and Jennifer Pasquali; dear friend and companion of Marion Belanger.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2013 at 7:45 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to Historic St. Mary’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 4-7 pm . Interment will follow the Mass at 10:30 am in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
