GLENMONT- Herbert FromherzSosedow of Glenmont passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. Herbert “Herbie’ was born in 1931 in Oschatz, East Germany to the late Gertrude Anna Schulze and Frommherz Stahn. In his early years, he lived in Germany then moved to the United States in 1951. In 1981 he married Ella Mae Wiegand (Susser) Sosedow. They shared almost 40 years of marriage.

As a new immigrant to the US, Herb was drafted in 1953 to the Korean War, this led to him officially becoming a US citizen. Herbert held many jobs over the years including working underRussian rule inthe Uranium Mines in Germany. Hiscareers included farming, dry cleaning at Roxy Cleaners, Construction at Behr Manning. He owned a gun shop, worked at Woolworths and then opened his own Dry Cleaning Business “Cleanerama” in Loudonville, from where he retired due to health concerns.

Herbert is survived by his wife Ella; his sister Charlotte Lintnerand daughter Pamela Lee, also his step children Wanda (Alan) Whitney, Nancy Histed, Wayne (Shirley) Susser, and Bruce (Joann) Susser, He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Ann, brother Rudolph and grandson Brian Whitney. He is also survived by ninegrandchildren Garrett (Jill) Histed, Dana (Mike) Bienvenue, Holly (Mike) Weddell, Nicole (Dan) Mahoney, Gabrielle Susser, Michael (Amber) Gray, Rebecca (Jeremiah) Gray, Katie (Luke) Willey and James (Megan) Susser andmany great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandsonBrian Whitney.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 29 at 10:00 am at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited to visit prior to the service from 9:00- 10:00 am at the Church. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Kenwood Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his memory.
