Albany—M. Joyce (Trenske) Sorenson died Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Albany to William J. and Louise (Hettinger) Trenske, Joyce was a graduate of the former St. Ann’s Academy, Class of 1947. Mrs. Sorenson retired from the New York Telephone Co. in 1984 after 37 ½ years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and at one time was “Bozo” the Clown in the Pioneer clown troupe.
For 43 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Kaye W. Sorenson. Several cousins and god-children survive Joyce.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 9:15 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish-South End Worship Site, (corner of Fourth Ave. and Franklin St.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 4-7p.m.
Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY.
