Smith, Sandra S.

GLENMONT - Sandra (Stein) Smith, 78, died Wednesday, June 07, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaretta (Walther) Stein and sister of the late Sharlene Fuller. Sandy graduated from Vincentian Institute class of 1956 and The College of St. Rose, class of 1960. She taught programming and English at Saratoga-Warren BOCES and night courses at the College of St. Rose. Sandy retired in 2000 from the NYS Office of the State Comptroller.

She is survived by her husband James A. Smith; children Brian J. Smith, Lynda J. Smith (Elizabeth Wyld) and granddaughter Victoria Smith-Wyld; her niece Kim Reohr (Joseph) and grand nephews Daniel (Shannon) and Stephen Reohr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 3-6 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 8:45 am from the funeral home thence to Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
