Smith, Edith P.

ALBANY- Edith (Person) Smith, 80, died suddenly Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late William Louis and Edith (Turner) Person.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of the former St. Ann’s Academy.

She is survived by her husband Robert Smith, Sr.; daughters, Mary (Brian) Courter and Theresa Daniels; son, Robert (Holly) Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Jaime (Rob) Linneman, Kevin (Julie) Smith, David Smith, Terri (John) Murray, Jeffery Smith, Adrianne Smith, John (Krista) Courter, Nichole (Eddie) Daniels, Michele (Aaron) Daniels and Stephen (Jeannine) Daniels; seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Mikayla, Taylor, Brianna, Macee, Stephen and Savanna. She is also survived by her niece and godchild, Shirley (James) Race along with several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, George (Marie) Person; sisters, Olive Person (Pat) Ferraioli, Rosemary Person and Marie Person; and grandson, Robert W. Smith, III.

Funeral services will be held 9:15 am Friday, April 23, 2010 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany thence to St. John’s/St. Ann’s Church in the South End (Fourth Ave. and Franklin St.), Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 4 to 8 pm. Interment, Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
