East Greenbush, NY- Jaclyn J. Smith known to many as “Jackie"and/or Aunt “Ka” passed away at her home suddenly Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was born in October 1984. Jackie was a graduate of Columbia High School in 2002. Jaclyn worked with disabled adults and took great pride while doing so. Jaclyn was recently predeceased by her mother Mary Ellen Smith. She was also predeceased by her beloved Aunt Kathy Klimek, Uncle Bob Smith, Aunt Pat Robinson, & Aunt Nancy Catalano.
Jaclyn is survived by her world, her DAD Michael Smith; Sister, Summer (Dominick) Robinson; nephews, Jeremiya Patterson and Gianni Figliomeni; Aunt Margaret Smith, Uncle Bob (Mary) Robinson, and Uncle Michael (Laura) Robinson, Uncle George Catalano as well as numerous cousins. Jackie adored her four pets and will be missed by them. She held near and dear to heart many friendships, and had an exceptionally close friendship with Kenneth Hausler.
Jaclyn had an extremely great sense of humor. She had a way of taking center stage and keeping a captive audience full of belly laughs. She had an excellent memory and could recall anything she saw, heard, or read. She had a love of the arts and networking which led to her to being invited by Designer Shawn McQuade in the opening of Club 57 In NYC at MOMA where she wore a specially designed dress. Jackie was a beautiful writer, and had a passion for books since an early age.
Jaclyn had a wonderful bond with her father and spent a lot of time watching basketball with him and they shared a love for the Boston Celtics. She was daddy's little girl.
Jaclyn was a very compassionate, loyal, caring friend and always willing to lend a helping hand, ear, even if she did nothave it to give. She took pride in advocating for people whocould not advocate for themselves. Jaclyn was a very forgiving person, much like her mom, her door was always open, and no problem was too big for her to take on.
The Catholic Funeral Massfor Jaclyn as well as for her mother Mary Ellen Smith will be celebrated on Tuesday January 31,2023 at11:00 am atSaint Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave. Albany, NY 12209.
