NASSAU - Clifford B. Schock, 76, passed away on August 11, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Born in East Rockaway, NY, he was the son of the late George and Martha Schock. Cliff was well known in the field of microscopy, was a self-employed optical equipment sales representative for over 40 years, and was much appreciated for his technical knowledge by customers in the Northeast and Midwest. He enjoyed watching all sports, and played a great game of tennis and later transitioned to golf. He loved to experience daybreak on his early morning walks, in all seasons no matter the weather. Cliff was a devoted friend, known for his affable, relaxed personality. He was a gracious host to friends and family, sharing his love of good wine, and visiting wineries in California and France.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, George Schock. He is survived by his loving partner of 50 years, Suzanne “Sam” Pollard; his sister, Geraldine Woodward of Florida; sister-in-law, Jacalyn Schock; nieces and nephews Christopher Schock (Christine), Jennifer Krolowitz (Steve), Kerry Ketcham, Kelly Woodward, Gabrielle Foley (Uday Kodukula) and Clarke Foley (Samantha Toëws); his sister-in-law Michèle Pollard (late Neil Foley); and many dear friends.
Cliff’s family would like to thank the medical staff of St. Peter’s Cancer Care Center for all the care and support they provided Cliff over the past few years. Cliff’s family is grateful to the staff and nurses of The Community Hospice for their expertise, care and guidance.
