Sally L. Bulger

Sally Louise Bulger, of Delmar passed away at home, peacefully on November 1, 2023, after a courageous battle against breast cancer.  She was surrounded by her devoted husband Don and their three favorite children, Bill, Deanna, and Donna.  She passed on her own terms, ending her Earthly journey the way she wanted.  As if that was ever a question.

Sally was predeceased by her parents, Salvador and Josephine Conora.

Sally and Don have been married for 59 years, meeting in Cardinal McCloskey High School in Albany. Sally worked as the school secretary, or administrative assistant as she preferred, at the now closed St. Teresa of Avila School in Albany for 32 years.  She loved working there, being with the students and staff.  “Mrs. Bulger” touched many lives.

Sally loved Neil Diamond, camping at Deer Run with her great friends, the beaches of Maine and the Outer Banks, and spending time with her sisters-in-law Lucy and Karen. But most of all, she truly loved spending time with her family.  She lived for her children and grandchildren.

Sally is survived by her husband Donald Bulger, Jr; her son William (Stacy) Bulger, her daughters Deanna (Todd) Carras, and Donna (Todd) Silvernail; her eight grandchildren William (Melissa) Bulger, Jennifer (Vince) Boice, Emily Bulger, Lindsey (Joseph) Shell, Jackson and Aidan Carras, Daniel and Joe Silvernail;  and her two great granddaughters, Cora Lynn Boice and Adleigh Bulger.  Her grandchildren will forever remember how much their Grandma Sally and Nana loved them.

In lieu of flowers, Sally’s family graciously asks that donations be made to the Sisters of Mercy, 634 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday November 5, 2023, from 3 pm to 5:30 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY 12209. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 12 noon with Fr. Daniel Quinn at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot of Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, NY.
