Rooney, Charlotte R.

DELMAR- Charlotte R. (Salisbury) Rooney, 89, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Bethlehem Commons Residential Care Center at Good Samaritan Village. Born in Delmar, she was the daughter of Frank and Edna (Smith) Salisbury and graduated from the former Cathedral Academy in Albany. Mrs. Rooney worked for the NYS Department of Correctional Services retiring in 2002 after 28 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to the Senior Luncheons. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and their friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip J. Rooney. Charlotte is survived by her children, Frank (Kerrilynn) Rooney of Delmar, Kevin (Teresa) Rooney and Marianne Rooney all of Colorado; her grandchildren Tara (Todd) Wolf, Christopher, Michael and Patrick Rooney, Shawnee Keyes and Katie Rooney; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ella; and her sister-in-law Mary McCabe. She is also survived by her good friend Kim Gage; two of the three Musketeers Anna Vandewal and Marion Keenan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 am in The Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Church prior to the service from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave., Delmar, NY 12054 or to a favorite charity.
