Roberts, Ellen Q.

GLENMONT- Ellen Quinn Roberts, 99, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Teresian House.

Born and educated in Albany Ellen was the daughter of the late John R. and Josephine F. (Hart) Quinn. During WWII she served in the US Navy (WAVES) and was honorably discharged in 1945. Ellen worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service in Glenmont. She was a longtime Communicant of the former St. John’-St. Ann’s Church of the South End, now St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She was a member of the American Legion Nathaniel Blanchard Post 1040 and a life member of the Selkirk Fire Company Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Austin Roberts; her sisters, Susan (Bob) Grattan and Nancy (Philip) Dillon, and grandson-in-law Christopher Blaney. Ellen is survived by her two sons, Michael (Linda) and Paul (Tracie) Roberts; grandchildren Tracey Blaney, Kelly (Gregory) Melita, Paul (Courtney Hart) Roberts, Jr., Todd (Kate) Roberts, and Brad (Ashley) Roberts; great-grandchildren Connor, Patrick, Clare, Michael, Madelyn, Carter, Scarlett, Nathan, Nolan and Shea; also several nieces and nephews.

Out of an abundance of caution, due to the pandemic, Ellen’s funeral Mass will be held privately.

Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 481 Route 9W, Glenmont on Tuesday, December 22, at 12:15 pm. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Ann’s Food Pantry, 88 Fourth Ave. Albany, NY 12202.

The family would like to thank her former caregiver Kris Carpenter as well as the Staff of the Teresian House (Carmel Gardens) for their care and compassion
