Richard "Bugs" Moran

Albany – Richard “Bugs” Moran, 85, Albany, passed away with loving family by his side at Albany Medical Center on Friday September 27, 2024. Richard was born and educated in Albany’s “South End.”  The son of Thomas and Anne (VanDeusen) Moran.

Richard was an electrician and retired from Watervliet Arsenal and retired from Military.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Scott Michael Moran, and daughter in law Kelly (Fresina) Moran.

Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years Rose “Tootie” (Frese) Moran, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Rings, Sean Moran, Shane (Jackie) Moran. Grandchildren Megan, Melissa, Scott, Alex, Sean, Katie, Tommy and great grandchildren.

Richard started his military service at the age of 16 when he joined the National Guards. He later joined the Air Force which he retired in 1964. Richard rejoined the National Guards and retired from the Army Reserves 1994.

Richard “Bugs” was a bowler, golfer and was a member of the Bethlehem Elks.

Richard took care of his wife for 35 years up until his death. Every morning since 2017 he brought her coffee from Stewarts to her at Good Samaritan/Delmar Center Nursing Home where he was lovingly known as “Mr. Rose”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday October 7, 2024, from 9 am to 11 am at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave Albany. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S Pearl St, Albany, NY 12202.
