Reilly, William J.

ALBANY- On August 28, 2017 at his home on Western Avenue, William J. Reilly, III passed away peacefully. He was predeceased by his parents, William J. Reilly, Jr. and Helen Zoll Reilly and his infant great-granddaughter, Joy. Bill graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and Albany College of Pharmacy. He operated Hamann Pharmacy in Arbor Hill for many years, and retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Bill met his wife, Patricia O’Hara, on St. Patrick’s Day, 1951, at Hibernian Hall in Albany. They married on August 10, 1957. Their children include Maureen and Richard Pagano, Tricia and Joseph O’Brien, William Terence and Jeanne Monaco Reilly, Laurie and John Bebb, Michaela Reilly and Eric Waterman; John Brendan and Suzanne Cowles Reilly, and Patrick Benson and Kathryn Clearfield Reilly; his chosen children include but are not limited to Mark E. Lyons and Walter Piela; twenty grandchildren also survive: Kelly, Kevin (Meghan), Maura, Carly (Brian); Michaela (Trevor) , Erin (Jason) Cara, Jack, Molly, William, (Sunyoung) Dane (Sean) Gretel, Aidan, Brendan, Maeve, Conner, (Galen), Eamon (Kait), Patrick, Ben and Caroline. Great Grandchildren include: Conner, Hadley, Callum, Violet, Everly and Lincoln. Bill is also survived by his brother-in-law, Kevin O’Hara, and sister-in-law, Gail Mayakis O’Hara, of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Fond memories of Arbor Hill include dear old friends Frank and Tom Callahan, Matt Fitzgerald, Bob McGaugh and Gordon Dailey and Father Frank O’Connor.

Friends and family may gather Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 31 at 10:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 900 Madison Ave. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
