ALBANY- Mary Quinn Reagan died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Born in Schenectady, on May 1, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Charles Patrick and Florence Devereaux Quinn. She was a 1947 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1951. Mary was a second-grade teacher in the Schenectady public school system. Following her marriage to her best friend and sweetheart, Joseph Anthony Reagan in 1956, she and Joe settled in Albany, New York to raise their family. Mary was an active volunteer and dedicated herself to helping others. She and Joe volunteered tirelessly at the Center for Disabilities and for St. Catherine of Siena Parish (Mater Christi). She was a member of the Ladies of Charity and she was a Dame of the Order of Malta. Mary loved flowers and enjoyed her time with the Hugh Platt Garden Club of Schenectady and the Albany Garden Club. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Catherine Center for Children and at the St. James Food Pantry. In her days as a young mother, Mary actively volunteered at the Albany Academy for Boys and the Academy of the Holy Names.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Joe. She is survived by her children Joseph Reagan (Molly), Catherine Harvey (Jimmie), William Reagan (Carol) and Mary Ellen Tomson (Anders). Mary is survived by her 10 beloved grandchildren, William (Brooke), Timothy, Mary Reagan, Holt, Annika, Jay, Allison, Elizabeth, Jack, and Catherine. Mary is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Teresa Quinn and her beloved Quinn and Reagan nieces and nephews.

Mary was lucky to spend the last part of her life in her beautiful home. We are so grateful for the loving care she received from her caregivers at Interim Health Care, most especially Stephanie Owens. She was also beautifully cared for by the wonderful people at Community Hospice. Mary deeply appreciated everyone’s kindness and truly enjoyed the company of so many who came to help her.Mary also lived in a world surrounded by the love of so many devoted friends. We are eternally grateful to all of those who made these last few years so rich in love and friendship for her.

We, her children and grandchildren, will miss her devotion to her faith, her strong will and her constant love. She was a vision of elegance for all to see – always in her signature combination of lipstick, an Hermes scarf, earrings and sunglasses!
