DELMAR – Jerome J."Jerry" Quenneville, 79, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was a man who strongly believed his faith got him through many of life’s ups and downs. He always had respect for everyone he knew or came in contact with. He was the son of Isabelle Quenneville, was an Albany native and attended local public schools.

Jerry was a baker by trade and loved to travel, both made possible as he ventured to set up baking operations at numerous Dunkin Donut shops in many US locations. During a hiatus from baking, Jerry spent four years as a Bell Captain at the Maxim Hotel just off the Las Vegas Strip where he was able to meet and chauffeur many well known Hollywood stars. After a few more years working at donutshops he returned to Albany to care for his elderly aunt and worked at the Kenwood convent providing maintenance and security for the facility. Jerry will always be remembered by all who knew him for his integrity and honesty.

Jerry was an avid fan of all sports with a special interest in horse racing and visited many tracks in the country. Jerry watched Syracuse and the Knicks basketball, Yankees and Cubs baseball and the NY Giants football. Each morning he checked the results and stats for all games played the day before. He looked forward to the March madness basketball competitions each year.

Fourteen years ago, Jerry moved to Delmar to enjoy his retirement years with his companion Vera Bordi, the love of his life. Together they took several trips to Daytona Beach, FL to enjoy the sun and fun. Jerry enjoyed the atmosphere of casinos and went often to Atlantic City, Connecticut and Schenectady.

Survivors include his long-time companion Vera Bordi; his feline companion Molly; as well as many cousins. Jerry was predeceased by his loving mother and ten aunts and uncles.
