SCHENECTADY- Michael C. Purello, 63, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Albany VA Hospital from prostate cancer as a result of exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. Born in Albany, son of the late Salvatore and Maybell Purello; he graduated from Albany High School. After graduation, he entered the US Navy and became a member of the Seabees; proudly serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return from service, he earned a degree in Engineering from HVCC. Michael worked for the railroad under Conrail and later CSX working hard for 30 years until he retired in 2009. He was an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman.
He was a life member of the Sheehy Palmer VFW Post and a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
