Prudente, Jennie C.

ALBANY ---- Jennie C Prudente, age 96, passed away peacefully at Shaker Place Nursing Home on Friday, March 19, 2021 as a result of complications from Alzheimer's disease.

Mom was born on December 15, 1924 in Albany, NY to the late Carmelo and Margherita Caminiti. She was predeceased by her husband Angelo Prudente who passed in 2006. She wore several hats in her lifetime, homemaker, mail room supervisor for HANYS for about 10 years and ending her work career with the NYS Insurance Fund. Mom made many friends all along the way, especially neighbors on Elm St. and Fleetwood and Melrose Avenues.

She was always proud of her Italian heritage and loved cooking and baking Italian treats. Pasta e fagioli and frittate di patate were regular Friday night dinners in her kitchen. Her cookies at Christmastime were the best.

Mom was a devoted spouse to Angelo to whom she was married for 57 years. She was a loving mother to her 2 children, Stephen (Christine) Prudente and Susan (Christopher) Heim. She adored her grandchildren Emily Prudente, Andrea (Anand Satyamoorthy) Prudente, and Angelo Heim and her 2 great granddaughters Mira and Lila Satyamoorthy. Sadly, because of COVID she never got to meet Lila. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Domenic Caminiti, her sister Phyllis Moran and her nephew Mark Young. Mom is survived by her sister Mary Young, her sister-in-law Joan Caminiti and her brother-in-law Salvatore Prudente, his wife Lucy (Mom's casino buddy), and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention but who were always dear to her heart.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Kowal and his staff, and the staffs at Peregrine Senior Living Center and Shaker Place Nursing Home for their care, concern and compassion.

Interment was at St. Agnes Cemetery.
