Porterfield, Bobby

RAVENA- Bobby Porterfield, 68, entered into Eternal rest on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Georgetown, SC, the son of Diana Alston Porterfield and the late Sandy Porterfield, he lived in Albany County for many years. Mr. Porterfield served in the US Marine Corps. and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze, the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Certificate of Appreciation. He worked as a truck driver for Air Products and Chemicals for many years.

In addition to his mother, Rev. Diana Fletcher, he is survived by his wife Kathleen Cross Porterfield; children Quaniesha and Reggie Porterfield, Mikko, Javara, Tyeshia and Molana Porterfield, Danny (Ramona), Scott (David), and Matthew (Amanda) Hotaling; his siblings Sandra Lind, Eloise, Marion, Patrick and Sal Porterfield; his 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4-7p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Fifth Avenue AME Zion Church, 189 5th Ave, Troy, NY 12180. Interment will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. Those who wish may send donations to the Community Hospice Gift Processing Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208
