PILKINGTON, BRIAN M.
KERHONKSON, NY- Brian M. Pilkington, 58, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the Stratton VA Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the beloved son of Catherine E. (Mooney) Pilkington of Albany and the late John J. Pilkington, Jr. of Kerhonkson. Brian attended Rondout Valley High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked for several decades as a bartender and waiter at the Log Cabin in Kerhonkson. Brian enjoyed writing poetry. He was an avid outdoorsman and a hunting and firearms enthusiast. He was a member of the planetary society and a lifelong member of the NRA.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his sisters, Mary T. Pilkington and her husband Rick Genero of Albany and Margaret Dodson and her husband Richard, Sr. of Austin TX.; his brother, Daniel Pilkington of Los Angeles, CA.; his nephew, Richard Dodson Jr. and his wife Brandy and their children Hadley and Drew all of Austin, Tx.; his aunt, Mrs. Margaret Mooney of Brooklyn; several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in St, Vincent de Paul Church, 900 Madison Ave. Albany. There will be no public calling hours. Spring burial will take place in April in the Pine Bush Cemetery in Kerhonkson.
