SLINGERLANDS - Phillips, Richard W. “Rich” went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2021 surrounded by loving family. He was married 67 years to his loving wife MaryAnn who survives him along with his 3 children and their spouses, Richard (Sarah), Stephen (Hilary), Matthew (Saul) , 9 grandchildren(Nathan, Elizabeth, Jameson, Lindsay, William, Mark, Sydney, Samuel and Hope) and their spouses and 14 great grandchildren.

His primary home for over 25 years was in Voorheesville NY where he raised his family. He and MaryAnn enjoyed spending winters in Naples, FL and in later years at their home on Lake George NY. He loved to encourage family and people, including people who were recovering from heart surgery. He served as a volunteer for Mended Hearts, a non-profit that has offered hope to heart disease patients and as a Stephen Minister bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need. He was an optimist with tremendous energy and vitality. He served in the Army with pride from 1953-1955in Korea.

He loved his wife, family, friends and the USA. He believed the Lord had blessed him and his life was truly the American Dream. Over 50 years ago he started a construction business that continues to operate today by family members. His hobbies and interests varied and were many over the years, however the one that he enjoyed the most was skiing. Born in Queens, NY on January 24, 1933, he was predeceased by his parents Rose (Opra) and John as well as his only sibling Beverly.

The family will have a private graveside service on April 14th to be followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate his life for friends and family at a date to be arranged.
