Ravena, NY- On April 25th, 2017 at 9:19 a.m., the world, our community and, most importantly, our family tragically lost our son, Logan, in an automobile accident on his way home from class while he was with his best buddy Matt Hamilton. Logan happily leapt into the world, the third son born to Amy and Frank Penzabene, on July 14th, 1998.
Logan inherited his father’s easy ways and ability to quickly make each and every person he met his friend and he inherited his mother’s beautiful smile and her ability to make you feel as if you’ve been her friend forever. Though Logan excelled both athletically and academically while in school, his most endearing quality and lasting memory was his ability to brighten any room he entered and to encourage any person he thought was in need. In addition, Logan was specially fond of his animals.
I know in this terribly tragic time, Logan would walk into the room and tell us that he hoped that we see the world as he did because he knows that a life with love is a life that's been lived and that a heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved. So the Lord, seeing that Logan has accomplished all He wanted him to accomplish in his short life, has called him home. Frank and Amy are comforted to know that when Loganknocked on St. Peter’s gate, he was greeted by his grandfather Joseph Sr. and his grandmother Diana and the Lord shouted, ‘Hallelujah, Your Home!’ So, if you want to honor Logan’s memory, when you see a ‘new’ friend not yet known, reach out, shake his hand and say ‘How do you do?’ knowing that, like Logan, what he really is saying is ‘Welcome, new friend!’
Logan is survived by his grieving parents, Frank and Amy, the best brothers one could ask for, Tanner A., Zachary A. and Cooper A. Penzabene; his grandparents, Jack and Millie Ehring; his uncles Joseph (Kim) Penzabene, Vincent Penzabene, Daniel (Jami) Ehring; his aunts Toni (Michael) Penzabene-Wagner, Jennifer (Dennis) Commerford, Lori (Dwight) LaDu, Carolee (Brian) Whitman, Joanne (Ron) Peter, Carmella (Rusty) Axtmann, and Dr. Patricia (Dr. William) Ehring-Jarmolych; his cousins Volante and Joey Penzabene, Jodi, Dennis, Jr., Jenna and Jesse Commerford, Amber, Kourtney and Taylor LaDu, Chad, Sean and Shelby Whitman, Madison and Raegan Ehring, Ryan and Evan Peter, Leland and Garett Axtmann, Nicholas ‘Nicky’, Samantha ‘Sammy’, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’, Joshua ‘Josh’ and Spencer Jarmolych.
Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with Logan’s family Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Logan’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 21 Main Street, Ravena, NY. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
If you would like to make a donation in Logan’s name, he was especially fond of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or the St. Patrick’s Church Food Pantry, Ravena.
