Patricia A. Dimuria

ALBANY - Patricia “Patti” DiMuria, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 18, 2023, after a decade long battle with cancer.

She was born in Albany, NY on May, 1, 1952 to Patrick and Mary (Giordano) DiMuria. She graduated high school from Marylrose Academy and went on to the State University of New York at Albany where she earned a BA in English.

She began her career at the Albany Times Union, followed by employment for the State University of New York, the New York State Thruway Authority and Albany Catholic Charities. Until and during her illness she was employed at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

During her life she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She enjoyed dining out at her favorite restaurants with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed holiday and birthday celebrations and vacations with her family. She was always willing to lend a hand in support of local charities.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her cousin, Joanne Fusco. She is survived by her brother, Dennis (Susan Hart) DiMuria, her nephew Christopher (Deanna) DiMuria and children Nicolas, AJ and Amalia, nephew Adam (Trista) DiMuria, son Frank and daughter Ashlee (Patrick) Bickert and son Hudson, and niece Emily DiMuria. She is also survived by her cousins Vincent, Frank and Marie Scovello and their families and Maria (Gary) Glatter, Charles (Sarah) Giordano, Jean (Mark) Tanenbaum, Dominick Fusco, and Paul (Lauren) Giordano and their families.

Her family would like to thank her many friends who supported her with love, support, food and running errands as she battled her illness. They would like to give a special recognition and thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn for making her comfortable and at peace in her final days.

Donations in Patti’s honor may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

The family is planning a memorial gathering to celebrate Patti's life at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Albany, NY, at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 16, 2024, followed by burial at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
