Parkinson, Cecilia K.

ALBANY- Cecilia Kerznowski Parkinson 93, died peacefully at home on October 1, 2021. Her niece and Primary Care Giver, Mary Jean Kerznowski Gargiulo was at her side.

Cecilia was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Kerznowski. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, and graduated from Solvay High School. A woman ahead of her time, Cecilia worked in sales for Brace, Mueller Huntley for 39 years. In January 1953, Cecilia married John J Parkinson. In the early 1960’s Ceil and Jack moved to Albany, NY which became their home. Over the years, Ceil and Jack developed many friendships in both Albany and Syracuse. Many friends and neighbors became extended family to Ceil and Jack.

Cecilia was a devout Catholic, and very proud of her Polish Heritage. She made her home a place where everyone was welcome. Nothing was more important to Cecilia than family. Her hobbies included shopping, gambling and traveling.

Cecilia was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose, her husband John, siblings Lillian Bondar and Leonard Kerznowski, and nephew Richard Parkinson Jr.

Surviving Cecilia in addition to Mary Jean are nieces and nephews, Mary Elizabeth (Wayne) Morgan, Mark (Mary) Bondar, Leonard (Laurie) Kerznowski, Michael (Ava) Kerznowski, Mary Elizabeth Parkinson, Carol (William) Fisher, Donna (Christopher) Curtin, John (Cynthia) Parkinson, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on November 4, 2021 at 9:30 am. Burial will take place at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery following the Funeral. There are no calling hours.
