Panzetta, Grace M.

ALBANY- Grazia Maria (Grace) Pulieri Panzetta, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Born in Pulsano, Taranto, Italia, she is the daughter of the late Angelo Pulieri and Teresa Lippolis Pulieri. Grace married her husband of 42 years, the late Antonio Panzetta in 1956. They emigrated to the US and worked as seamstress and tailor, employed by the Hickey Freeman Clothing Company in Rochester, NY. Her talents as a seamstress were renowned and she worked doing alterations well into her late 80’s. In 2000, she married the late Cosimo Caputi and they enjoyed 9 years together, sharing their time between NY and FL.

Her first love, always, was her family. She is survived by her children, Dr. Mary Panzetta (Tim Alston) of Albany, NY, Frank (Kristen) Panzetta of Liverpool, NY and Angelo (Gina) Panzetta of Meadville, PA. Loving grandma to Ben and Tom Alston, Anna (Quinn) Tilley, Joe, Anthony, Mary, Tommy and dear Marissa Panzetta and great grandma to her little angels, Eliza and James Tilley. Sister of Giovanna Gargano and Silvia Albano and the late Cosimo, Guiseppe, Filippo, Pietro, Danielle, Enrico and Francesco Pulieri of Pulsano, Taranto, Italia. We’d also like to acknowledge, Susan, her nurse and friend and Lois, the other half of the grandma duo.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m., at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Private Interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
