SLINGERLANDS-Edward T. “Red” Otto, 90, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Born in Albany he was the son of the late James J. and Margaret M. (Galvin) Otto. He was a graduate of the former St. Ann’s School and attended Christian Brothers Academy. Ed was an Army Veteran of the Korean War having obtained the rank of Corporal. His life was devoted to family, friends and his faith.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Ann (Frangella) Otto; two daughters, Margaret M. David (Peter) and Ann E. Maney (John) all of Delmar; cherished granddaughter, Margaret M. Maney; nieces and nephews, James Otto, Jr. M.D., Jo-Ann Tambasco, Paul Otto, Janet Otto, Annmarie Marsh, Lisa Ricci, Christina Yates and David Frangella. He was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel P. Otto and James J. Otto, M.D. (late Mary).

The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Eddy VNA, St. Peter’s Home Care Primary Care Providers and Albany Memorial Hospital –Center for Wound Care; for their superb care and compassion.

Ed’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Ed’s family on Sunday, March 4th in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany from 3 to 6 p.m.

Those who wish may make memorial donations in Ed’s name to Center for Disability Services, 314 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
