Myers, Virginia Rose

ALBANY – Virginia Rose (Belmont) Myers, 92, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Albany County Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Born in Walton, NY and a graduate of Walton High School she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Angeline (Cicale) Belmont. After graduation she moved to the Albany area and worked for the Albany City School District for many years and later retired from the Albany County Dept. of Aging. Virginia was a communicant of the former St. James Church, a member of the Albany Polish Club and the Columbiettes Council 173.

She is the wife of the late Clarence “Bus” Myers who predeceased her in 1977; beloved mother of Michael J. (Diane) Myers, Sr.; cherished grandmother of Michael J. (Rose Ober) Myers, Clayton (Kate) Koonce, J. Michael (Danielle) Koonce, Jr. and great-grandmother of Mikayla Myers, Clayton III, Sawyer and Elle Koonce; sister of Lawrence (late Olga) Belmont and the late Samuel (Eleanor) Belmont, Jr. and John (Margaret) Belmont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
