Murphy, Thomas J.

ALBANY- Thomas J. Murphy, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 on his 84th birthday at the Community Hospice of Albany in St. Peters Hospital with his son by his side.

Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Francis and Kathleen (McNamara) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a US Navy Veteran and a longtime member of the Joseph Zaloga VFW Post in Albany. He was life member of Local 2, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers where he worked as a bricklayer since 1946. Mr. Murphy was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church. He loved being surrounded by his loving family.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marie (McCormick) Murphy. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Christopher) Neumann, Brian (Valerie) Murphy, Linda Murphy, Patrice (Thomas) McCarthy all of Albany and Alicia (Jeff) Talley of Las Vegas, NV; his sister Patricia Cazasta. Also survived by eight cherished grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Murphy was predeceased by his sibilings Mary Prestianni, Elizabeth Chmielewski, Kathleen Cross-ide, Alicia Stuto, Ann McElroy and Francis, James, Richard, John and Joseph Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9am in All Saints Catholic Church, Western Ave. at Homestead, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany Friday, December 16, 2011 from 4-7pm. Interment, Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
