Munafo, Anna Mae

ALBANY --- Anna Mae “Annie” Munafo went to her eternal reward on November 28, 2017 at the Teresian House. She was 85.

Born and raised in Troy, Anna Mae married N. Vincent Munafo in 1953 and together they raised four daughters. Afterward, Annie worked at Myers Department Store, Albany Medical College, NYS Department of Mental Hygiene, and finally, NYS Department of Taxation & Finance, retiring in 1994. She was an avid and active member of the Tax Alumni Association for many years. Anna Mae loved doing volunteer work at the St. Peter’s Hospital gift shop. She and Vince enjoyed visiting with their family and friends, especially their two granddaughters. They also loved dancing together and enjoyed all kinds of music. Family Christmas parties at their home on Providence Street were always special events.

Annie was predeceased by her mother Anna Jones, by her cherished husband of fifty-one years, Vince, and by her daughter Mary. She is survived by her daughters Rose Ann Munafo of Anchorage, Alaska, Theresa Munafo of Albany, Martha Munafo and her husband Joseph Bucci of Albany, and by her granddaughters Brigid Anna Munafo of Albany and Vivian Anne Munafo of Troy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday December 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany. Anna Mae will be entombed in the Mausoleum at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands immediately following.
