Mullen, Joann

ALBANY- JoAnn Mullen, 77, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson ’s disease. Daughter of Joseph and June (Hummel) Frischolz, JoAnn was born in Buffalo and was raised in Syracuse. The first in her family to graduate from college, JoAnn received her degree in Education from Potsdam University. She spent the majority of her career as an elementary school teacher for the East Greenbush Central School District as a Social Studies teacher.

She was the wife of the late Donald “Moon” Mullen. JoAnn is survived by her two daughters Kelly Mullen (Thomas McCaffrey) and Jennifer (Jeffrey) LaRock; and one beloved granddaughter, Honora J. LaRock.

Burial will be held privately in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Contributions in JoAnn’s memory may be made to The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, 139 S. Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
