COLONIE- John D. Morrison, Jr. "Momo"of Colonie, New York passed away Thursday, November 26th, 2020 after a courageous battle with ESLD.
John is predeceased by his beloved mother, Christine "Chrissy" Morrison (12/07/2017) also of Colonie. He is survived James Tupper, a father figure to John for over 40 years, son Killian Fullerton, loving partner, Marilou Trifiletti and her children Jonathan, Julia, and Victoria.
After graduating Bishop Maginn in Albany, John quickly discovered his passion for cooking. Over the course of nearly two decades, John worked in many of the Capital District's upscale restaurants. For a period of time, John catered weddings and parties after successfully establishing himself as a mastered culinary chef, before his health impacted his ability to do so.
For the past several years, John lovingly became the "personal chef" for many of his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking extravegant meals, and decorating for the holidays, often turning the living room into an awe inspiring scene, especially for children.
John loved spending time with his close friends and family. He often kept busy with projects around the house, shopping, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was dedicated to restoring the house that was once his mother’s, and through hard-work and passion, he and his fiancé had nearly completed this massive project.
John enjoyed vacationing in Long Beach Island, experiencing the great outdoors, and listening to the Grateful Dead. When afforded the luxury of relaxing, loved watching baseball, his favorite team being the yankees.
John was the most passionate, compassionate and empathetic man you'd meet on any given day. He will be missed by all who ever had the pleasure of meeting him.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Intensive Care Unit at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, who worked tirelessly on a holiday to care for John, and his care team on the liver transplant list of NYS.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, services will be held privately for immediate family, though plans of a remembrance gathering will hopefully come to fruition in the Spring.
